These noble, elegant "people" cats are out-bred from the Siamese. They have all the best qualities of the Siamese plus their own distinctive characteristics of protectiveness and companionability.

So closely do they bond with their owners, that we often refer to BURMESE as "a dog in cat's clothing!" They enjoy visitors and, after carefully assessing a stranger, will show their approval by curling up on his lap, purring loudly, or, conversely, if a Burmese disapproves of you, he quietly disappears into his room. Pam never agrees to re-home a kitten if the breeding queen shows restraint!

The Burmese is a quiet, highly intelligent, substantial cat with a gleaming, close-lying coat, golden eyes and a soft rounded face. Colours range from darkest velvet brown to pale cream. This unusual cat is easily trained and enjoys going for walks in harness. They are sometimes seen, sitting with their owner in coffee shops, enjoying the passing show!

SAGAPAW's bloodlines originated from Kupro Cattery in England. In 1985, Lesley and Pax Moren imported the first Kupro Burmese; Champion Paxles Kupro Red Orchid and Grand Champion Paxles Kupro Cream Muskrose.

Pam's Foundation Breeding Queen, Supreme Champion Sagapaw Paxles Creme Caitlin, won Best in Show as a Kitten of 6 months. Her Portrait, painted in watercolor by Lesley Purser, a famous South African artist, hangs in pride of place amongst other artworks in Pam's home.

Caitlin's daughter, Champion Sagapaw Dapple-Blossom, was recently awarded Champion status at the tender age of 9 months.

Sagapaw Ivory Camellia and Sagapaw Cream Caprice, both Caitlin Daughters, won their Championship Awards in 2002
