Importing Jozefina Imoya Devon Rex Cattery - Pretoria, South Africa |
|
Only a few days after the horrid events of September 11, 2001, many dollars and many emails later we went to fetch her at the airport. The flight was delayed by 30 minutes and we were thinking about all the horror stories about airlines, terrorism and cats in flight, waiting... We waited in front of the Swissair cargo for 60 minutes and another 20 for the cargo to be offloaded. Eventually she arrived and if we had ANY doubts about her being alive, it was immediately doused. She was yelling her lungs out at everybody that treated her so badly. She wanted out - NOW!!! We waited for another 20 minutes for the state vet that kindly came quickly and finished off the paper work as soon as he could. Jozefina kept on tapping him on the hand through the mesh. Once in the car, Jozefina first came for a cuddle in my neck with her "happiness overflow valve" going full steam and then, after a while had a quick bite to eat. At home we settled her into routine and she soon afterwards got into bed with daddy.
